Okay, so today I wanted to dive into the stats from the Baltimore Orioles vs. Houston Astros game. I’m a huge baseball fan, and I love comparing player performances.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a good source for the game data. There are tons of sports websites out there, but I wanted something reliable and easy to navigate. I ended up using this one sports website, cause they have the detailed box scores for pretty much every game. After getting the link, I just found the specific game I was looking for – easy peasy!
Digging into the Data
Once I had the game page open, I started looking at the player stats. It’s usually organized by team, with batting and pitching stats separated.
Here’s what I usually check for:
- Batting: I look at hits (H), runs batted in (RBI), home runs (HR), and batting average (AVG). These give a good overview of how well a player did at the plate.
- Pitching: For pitchers, I focus on innings pitched (IP), strikeouts (K), earned runs allowed (ERA), and walks (BB). These show how effective a pitcher was at preventing runs.
Comparing Players
With all this data, you can start comparing the key players from both teams. Things that usually jump out are, which players had the most hits? Did anyone hit a home run? How did the starting pitchers perform against each other? And stuff like that, you know, getting down into the details.

My Observations
I spent a good chunk of time comparing the stats, looking for interesting patterns. Sometimes one player really carries a team, or maybe there’s a pitching duel where both starters are just dealing. It’s all part of the fun of being a baseball stats geek!
So yeah, that’s basically my process for checking out player stats from a baseball game. It’s a simple way to understand what happened and which players made the biggest impact.
