Alright, so today I’m gonna walk you through my experience with the Kelly Kelly test. Heard about it online, seemed like a decent way to gauge overall fitness, so I figured, why not give it a shot?

What is the Kelly Kelly Test and How Does It Work?

First things first, I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube to make sure I understood the setup. Basically, it’s a timed circuit involving a set distance run, some burpees, push-ups, and box jumps. Seemed simple enough on paper.

Next, I had to find a place to do it. My garage was too cramped. Ended up heading to the local park. It had a pretty flat area for running and a bench I could use for the box jumps. Perfect!

Then came the fun part: setting up the course. I marked out a 20-meter distance using cones I borrowed from my kid’s soccer practice. Set the bench up. Made sure I had a timer ready to go on my phone. Everything was ready.

Okay, time to warm up! Did some jogging, some dynamic stretching – you know, the usual stuff. Gotta get the blood flowing and prevent any stupid injuries.

The test itself? Well, the first round felt pretty good. The run was easy, the burpees were manageable, push-ups were okay, and the box jumps weren’t too bad. I was thinking, “Hey, this isn’t so tough!”

Round two hit me a little harder. My legs started feeling it on the run. The burpees became a bit of a grind. Push-ups got tougher to pump out. Box jumps became less jump and more of a step-up-and-over situation.

By round three, I was seriously regretting my life choices. The run felt like it was uphill both ways. Burpees were a complete joke. Push-ups were sloppy, and the box jumps were just plain painful. I was breathing heavy and my legs were burning.

I pushed through though! Took a few extra seconds here and there to catch my breath, but I kept going. I was determined to finish what I started.

Finally finished the last round. Collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. It was brutal! Checked my time. Definitely not setting any records, but I finished. That’s what matters, right?

Afterward, I did some cool-down stretching. My muscles were screaming. Drank a ton of water. Felt like I could sleep for a week.

Overall, it was a tough workout. Definitely harder than I expected. It’s a good way to test your cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. Would I do it again? Maybe. After I recover, that is.

My key takeaways? Proper warm-up is essential. Pace yourself. Don’t give up, even when it sucks. And remember to stretch afterward. Happy training!
