Alright, let’s talk about this Zack Moss decision I’ve been chewing on. It’s been one of those back-and-forth things all week, you know?

Considering should I start Zack Moss in my lineup? Check out this advice before finalizing your fantasy team.

My Thought Process on Moss

So, the first thing popping into my head was: why is Moss even an option? Oh yeah, Jonathan Taylor’s status. That’s where I started. I went straight to the injury reports, checked every update I could find. Is Taylor practicing? Full? Limited? Did the coach say anything? You gotta know if the main guy is playing or not, or how much he’ll play. That’s job number one.

Okay, so let’s say Taylor is out, or maybe looking really iffy. Now Moss steps into the spotlight. What did I do next? I looked back at the games Taylor missed earlier. How did Moss do? I checked his stats – carries, targets, how many snaps he played. I remember seeing he got a boatload of work last time. That definitely caught my eye. Volume is huge in fantasy, especially for running backs.

Then, I shifted focus to the opponent. Who are the Colts playing this week? I pulled up the matchup details. How’s their run defense? Do they usually get steamrolled by running backs, or are they like a brick wall? This is pretty important. A great workload doesn’t mean much if the defense is shutting everyone down.

Weighing the Options

This is where the real head-scratching started. I laid out the good and the bad, just trying to sort it out.

  • Good stuff: If Taylor is out/limited, Moss likely gets a ton of carries and maybe some catches. Touchdown chances go way up near the goal line. If the matchup looks soft on paper, that’s a big plus.
  • Bad stuff: What if Taylor plays more than we think? That eats into Moss’s work right away. What if the Colts fall behind big and just start passing like crazy? That could make Moss disappear. And, honestly, are there other guys on my bench who maybe have a safer floor or a similar ceiling this week? Gotta compare.

I spent a good while just thinking about these points. Looked at my other running backs, my flex options. Considered the game script – do I think the Colts will be leading or trailing? It feels like a bit of a guessing game sometimes, doesn’t it?

Making the Call

After going back and forth, checking the final injury reports one last time before kickoff, I had to make a decision. I looked at the potential volume Moss could get. I considered the matchup again. I thought about what my team needed this week – did I need a safe play or could I afford to swing for the fences?

In the end, I decided to [Your Decision Here – e.g., start Moss / sit Moss]. For me, the [Reason – e.g., potential workload was too good to pass up / risk of Taylor playing more felt too high / matchup scared me off / matchup looked juicy]. It felt like the right move based on everything I looked at.

That was my process for figuring out the Zack Moss situation this week. It’s never easy, and sometimes you’re right, sometimes you’re wrong. That’s just part of the fun, I guess. Now, we just watch and see what happens!
