Okay, so check it out, I messed around with Cyberpunk 2077 today, and I gotta tell you about this whole save game location thing ’cause it drove me nuts for a bit.

Accessing your Cyberpunk 2077 saves: A guide to the save folder

First off, why I even cared: I’m OCD about backing up my saves. Lost progress in a game before? Yeah, nightmare fuel. So, step one, I needed to FIND that freakin’ save folder.

The Hunt Begins: So, I start digging. Figured it’d be in the game folder, right? Wrong. After some frustrating clicks and dead ends, I’m hitting up Google like a madman. Turns out, it’s buried. Deep.

The Actual Location (the magic words!): It’s not as straightforward as you’d think. For most people, it’s something like: C:Users[Your Username]Saved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077. I went into my `C:` drive and went step by step to find it, and there it was!

Important Note: That “[Your Username]” part? That’s your Windows username. Don’t be a dummy and copy-paste that literally.

What I did next: Once I had the folder, I copied the whole thing to my external hard drive. Boom. Backup secured. I even made a shortcut to the save folder on my desktop, just to make my life easier later on.

Cloud Saves? Yeah, But…: Cyberpunk does have cloud saves, but I don’t fully trust those things. Plus, sometimes I wanna jump between my desktop and laptop, and having the manual saves makes it a breeze.

Here’s a gotcha: Sometimes, Windows can hide the “Saved Games” folder. If you can’t see it, you might need to go into your folder options and tell it to show hidden files and folders.

My final thoughts: It’s a bit annoying that the save location is so hidden, but once you know where it is, it’s no big deal. Now I can rest easy knowing my V won’t be lost to the digital void if something goes wrong. Back up your saves, people! You’ll thank me later.
