Well now, let me tell you ‘bout this gal, Carlota Ciganda. I don’t know much ‘bout golf, mind you, but I heard folks talkin’. They say she’s somethin’ special, this Ciganda.
Seems like she’s been winnin’ stuff, you know? Like, back in 2016, they say she won a couple of times. Twice! That’s a lot, ain’t it? I reckon that means she’s pretty good at hittin’ that little white ball with them fancy sticks.
- They call her a “star.” A “LPGA star,” they say. I guess that LPGA thing is somethin’ big, like a fancy club or somethin’. She must be one of the best, the way they talk.

Now, I heard some folks grumblin’ a bit, sayin’ she plays kinda slow. They call her a “slow-play offender.” I ain’t sure what that means exactly, but it sounds like she takes her time, you know? Maybe she’s just bein’ careful, makin’ sure she hits that ball just right. Can’t fault a gal for bein’ thorough, I say. Though some folks, they get all riled up about it. Can’t please everyone, can ya?
Pamplona, that’s where she’s from. Heard of it? Me neither, ‘til they started talkin’ ‘bout this Ciganda girl. They say it’s famous for bulls. Big, snortin’ bulls, I reckon. She’s showin’ them folks what she’s made of. Gotta admire that, even if you don’t know a lick about golf, like me.
I seen a picture of her once, on the TV. Looked like a nice young lady, strong and determined. Got that look in her eye, like she knows what she’s doin’. And I reckon she does. All that winnin’ and all them folks talkin’ ‘bout her. She must be somethin’ else.
I tell ya, it’s somethin’ to see a gal like that, makin’ a name for herself. Comin’ from a place with bulls and then goin’ off and becomin’ a golf star. That’s the kinda story that makes you smile, even if you’re just an old woman like me, who don’t know a thing about golf. It’s about grit, I reckon. And determination. And hittin’ that little white ball real good, I suppose. Go get ‘em, Carlota, that’s what I say. You show ‘em how it’s done.
So next time you hear ‘bout golf, remember that name: Carlota Ciganda. She’s the gal from Pamplona, the one who’s “on the charge.” And she’s winnin’. That’s the important part, ain’t it? Winnin’.
Golfing must be hard work though, all that walkin’ and swingin’. I bet she gets tired. But she keeps on goin’, that Ciganda girl. That’s what makes her a star, I reckon. Not just the winnin’, but the keepin’ on goin’, even when it’s tough.
