Alright, listen up, y’all. Today we’re gonna talk about somethin’ called “defeat by a large margin.” Sounds fancy, huh? Don’t you worry none, I’ll make it plain as day. But they got these little clues, and one of ’em was “defeat by a large margin.” And the answer they was lookin’ for was a fancy word, “drub.” Drub! Who in tarnation uses a word like that? Sounds like somethin’ you’d say if you swallowed a fly.
Anyways, this “drub” word, it means the same thing as gettin’ trounced, or smashed, or creamed. Like when my prize-winning pumpkin got squashed flat by a runaway tractor. That pumpkin got drubbed, for sure. And them city folks, they like to play these word games, tryin’ to figure out these fancy ways of sayin’ simple things. Beats all I ever saw.

They say these crossword puzzles, some of ’em are easy peasy, and some are harder than milkin’ a cow in a blizzard. The easy ones, they’re short and sweet, like pickin’ berries on a sunny day. But the hard ones, they got no theme, no rhyme or reason. Just a whole bunch of words thrown together like a chicken coop after a tornado.
And folks are lookin’ for answers to these clues all over the place. They’re searchin’ on their computin’ machines, and their phones, and who knows what all else. Just to find out that “defeat by a large margin” means “drub.” Seems like a waste of good time to me, but I ain’t one to judge. To each their own, I always say.
