Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Elden Ring lately, and one thing that kept bugging me was finding all those Wandering Mausoleums. You know, the giant walking bell-turtle things? Yeah, those. I needed those Remembrance duplications, so I got serious about tracking them down. Here’s how my hunt went down.

Elden Ring: All Mausoleum Walking Locations (Easy Find Guide)!

My First Encounter (and Confusion)

My first encounter was totally by accident. I was exploring Limgrave, probably getting my butt kicked by some random knight, when I heard this HUGE booming sound. I looked up, and there it was – this massive, walking…thing. I had NO idea what to do. I tried attacking its legs, dodging around, everything. Nothing worked. I eventually gave up, figuring it was just some weird, invincible world event.

Figuring Out the Puzzle (With a Little Help)

Later on, I stumbled upon some messages on the ground (thank you, fellow Tarnished!). They hinted at something about “skulls” and “cleaning”. I was still pretty clueless, but it was a start. I went back to the first Mausoleum I found and started poking around. That’s when I noticed those barnacle-looking things on its legs. They looked kinda like skulls, right?

So, I started whacking at them. And it worked! After clearing enough of those barnacles (or skulls, whatever they are), the Mausoleum slowly started to lower itself. I felt like a genius…for about five seconds, until I realized I had to time my jump onto it correctly. Let’s just say I fell. A lot.

The Hunt Begins!

Once I got inside and duplicated a Remembrance, I was hooked. I needed more! So, I started actively searching for these things. I pulled up a map online (no shame in that, sometimes you need a little guidance!) and started marking down the locations I’d already found. Then, I just started systematically exploring each area, keeping an ear out for that telltale booming sound.

My Mausoleum-Tracking Routine

Here’s what my process looked like, in very simple steps:

Elden Ring: All Mausoleum Walking Locations (Easy Find Guide)!
  • Explore a new area. Just ride around on Torrent, get a feel for the place.
  • Listen for the bell. That deep, resonant “BONG” sound is your best friend.
  • Pinpoint the location. Once I heard the bell, I’d try to find the highest point in the area to get a better view.
  • Clear the “skulls”. Get up close and personal with those legs and start smashing.
  • Time the jump. This still tripped me up sometimes. Don’t be afraid to die a few times trying to get inside.
  • Duplicate and repeat.Get that item, and continue you process.

Some Tricky Spots

Not all Mausoleums are created equal. Some were super easy to find, right out in the open. Others were tucked away in weird corners of the map, or surrounded by annoying enemies. I remember one in particular, near the Consecrated Snowfield, that was guarded by these giant archers. Getting to that one was a real pain.

Another tricky one was inside a cave,I don’t remember which one now, spent almost 2 hours for it.

Success! (Eventually)

It took a while, and a lot of exploring (and dying), but I eventually managed to find all the Wandering Mausoleums. That feeling of finally having all those Remembrance duplications was amazing. Now I can experiment with different boss weapons without worrying about locking myself out of options. Totally worth the effort!
