My Tarkov Seaside Getaway
So, things got a bit much lately, you know? Needed a break, but a proper holiday wasn’t really on the cards. Instead, I decided to take a little… staycation. Yeah, a digital one. Packed my bags, metaphorically speaking, and headed off for a seaside vacation in Tarkov. Shoreline, obviously.

First things first, gotta gear up for the trip. Wasn’t planning anything fancy. Just grabbed my usual AK, slapped on some decent armor – nothing too shiny, didn’t want to attract the wrong kind of attention on the beach. Packed some meds, water, maybe a Snickers bar equivalent from the game. You know, the essentials for relaxing by the sea while trying not to get shot.
Hitting the Beach (Sort Of)
Okay, loading into Shoreline. The sun’s usually out, looks quite nice actually. Got that big resort building looming, the sea off in the distance. Almost peaceful. For about five seconds. Then you remember where you are.
- Spawned near the coast one time. Actually walked along the water for a bit. Felt weirdly calm. Heard shots inland, snapped me right back. Vacation over, back to work.
- Spent a lot of time creeping around cottages. Less ‘beach vibes’, more ‘nosy neighbour wondering if they left their valuables out’. Found some okay stuff.
- Tried my luck at the resort. That’s the ‘luxury’ part of the vacation, right? More like a high-stress casino where you gamble your gear and your life. Sometimes you win, mostly you just donate gear to Chads on their own ‘power trips’.
It wasn’t exactly relaxing, let’s be honest. More like a working holiday. One raid, I was looting a stash near the pier, thinking about how quiet it was. Next thing I know, zing! A bullet whizzes past my ear. Scared the living daylights out of me. Some guy was camping way off. Had a frantic little fight, heart pounding. Managed to get him, barely. Grabbed his stuff and ran like hell. Some seaside trip, huh?
What I Learned on Vacation
Spent maybe a week doing this, hopping into Shoreline when I had time. Did I get rich? Nah, not really. Died a lot, lost some gear. But also got some decent loot, finished a couple of annoying quests. It’s Tarkov, swings and roundabouts.

The main thing? It was a change of pace. Focused on one map, learned the routes a bit better, the sneaky spots. It was still stressful, it’s Tarkov after all. But it was a different kind of stress. Felt good to just focus on this one little virtual world problem instead of… well, other stuff.
So yeah, my seaside vacation in Tarkov. Wouldn’t recommend it if you actually want to relax. But as a way to switch off from the real world for a bit and engage in some high-stakes hide-and-seek? Worked for me. Now, probably need a vacation from my vacation.
