Alright folks, lemme tell you about my UFC 4 body slam journey. It was a struggle, but hey, we got there eventually. Don’t expect some super pro guide, this is just how I managed it, alright?

UFC 4 Body Slam: The Ultimate Guide for New Players

First things first: the takedown. You can’t body slam outta thin air, gotta grab ’em first. I was messing around with the single leg and double leg takedowns for ages. The key is to wait for an opening, don’t just spam the button. Time it when they’re throwing a punch and you got a better chance.

Then, the clinch. This is where things get interesting. After the takedown attempt, sometimes you’ll end up in a clinch. That’s your golden ticket. I spent hours just clinching with the AI, trying to figure out the controls.

Okay, so you’re in the clinch. Now, don’t get grab happy, you need stamina, alright? Watch that bar at the bottom. Stamina’s low, you ain’t slamming nobody. So I was like, dodging punches, moving around a little, just preserving that sweet, sweet stamina.

The body slam itself: This is where I was failing for ages. The prompt that pops up is kinda vague. It’s something like “up + X” (if you’re on Xbox, might be square on PlayStation). But the timing! That’s the killer. I found you gotta input the command right after you gain control in the clinch. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate, UP + X (or square) immediately. I was always too slow, and then they would reverse the position.

  • I started practicing in practice mode. Just me and the AI, clinch, body slam attempt, fail, repeat.
  • Then I moved to quick fights. A little more pressure, but still practice.
  • Finally, I managed to pull it off consistently (well, relatively consistently) in Career mode.

Honestly, it’s more about feeling the rhythm of the clinch game. Knowing when to strike, when to defend, and when to go for that slam. Stamina management is KEY, seriously. If your stamina is drained, forget about it. Also, certain fighters have better slams than others. Experiment!

One more tip: Don’t be afraid to fail. I ate dirt more times than I can count. But eventually, you’ll get that sweet, satisfying thud of the body slam. Keep practicing, keep experimenting, and you’ll get there.

So yeah, that’s my UFC 4 body slam story. Not the prettiest, but it works. Hope it helps someone out there struggling like I was!
