Alright, folks, let me tell you about this Memorial Day Mets hat project I tackled. It was a bit of a journey, but definitely worth it in the end.
The Idea Sparked
So, it all started when I saw these really cool customized hats online. I’m a huge Mets fan, and Memorial Day is a big deal, so I thought, “Why not combine the two?” A Memorial Day Mets hat – seemed like a perfect way to show my support and get a little crafty.
Gathering Supplies
First things first, I needed a hat. Found a plain navy blue baseball cap that was a good fit. Then, I went scavenging for materials. I dug out some white fabric paint, a few stencils (stars, you know, for the patriotic vibe), and some red and blue embroidery floss. Oh, and of course, the Mets logo – I printed one out to use as a template.
The Design Phase
This is where things got interesting. I played around with different layouts on paper before committing to anything. I wanted the Mets logo front and center, obviously. Then, I decided to add some subtle stars around the brim and “Memorial Day” embroidered on the back. Simple, but effective, I hoped.
Painting and Stenciling

Embroidery Time
